CHEAP, FAKE iPhones at Mobile Fair
Mobile Fair sells imitation phones? Apple’s iPhone 3Gs goes at RM1k only!? 70% discounts?
Well, what a surprise! I was there myself today at the Mobile Fair at The Sphere, Bangsar South just because a friend of mine have called me earlier whether to buy or not the 3Gs iPhone which only cost like RM1k! Luckily, he was smart enough to hold his purchase until I got there myself and check.
To my surprise, they have many version of iPhones like Mini iPhone(?), Red Color iPhone, cheap fake looking 3G iPhone and the 3Gs iPhone itself! And all these products were promoted like brand new Apple’s products! And it is so sad to witness many buyers bought these phones as they have no clue they just bought fake products!

Aki’s newest toy, a bronze Sony Alpha 330 (limited edition)
It is one of my dream to have my own a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) but never really had a chance to get one because price tag has always been an issue for me. DSLR camera is definitely is not a cheap toy but, designer like me, who appreciates good photos and also dream to take some, I seriously think I need to buy one for myself!
So finally yesterday, I reached at Sony Style (The Curves, Mutiara Damansara) just right 15 minutes before their closing time and quickly pursued a sales person to get me a bronze colour of A330; a limited edition which the body and the lens are all in bronze colour! Interesting eh for DSLR which always comes in black?
The most exciting part is, due to Christmas is just over the corner; Sony is having blast promotions/sales for all ranges of their product, Alpha included. With only RM2899.00, the A330 comes with plenty of accessories which easily cost you another thousand ringgit! The only drawbacks was, I had to buy my own memory card and I bought the 8GB Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo for RM219.00 only. This PRO-HG Duo memory card has 20 times faster transfer rate over the normal memory card. Which I think will give you extra advantage if you like to transfer big sizes photo files to your pc.
Anyway, I walked out from the store with one big smile and one big hole in my wallet and carried not one but two paper bags that has A330 DSLR camera, 1 Alpha camera bag, 1 Alpha accessories bag, 1 Portrait Lens, 1 Standard Lens, 1 external flash, 1 Alpha Flusk, 1 Alpha Pen, 1 Alpha wrist band and some other cool stuff.
I think, this coming few days, I will sleep on the manuals for sure and start browsing to refresh my knowledge about shutter speed, aperture and all that jazz…

Right Brain Feeds 07 – 100 Animal Based Logo Design

Fipper was the first logo ever I’ve designed based on animal shape. Fipper actually is a footwear product; like a flip flop and their target buyers are like teenagers and young adults. Hence, the logo must have some fun, playful and cute design elements to it so will look more appealing to them.

Design 27 – HealthDrive Packaging Design Exercise
Not too long time ago, I did this packaging design for HealthierCompany’s innovative product called, HealthDrive; a Health Risk Assessment on a USB flash drive.
This HealthDrive contains a software that can be used to assess and track wellness for individuals and their family members. It also serves as a convenient way to store and organise medical records. In an emergency situation, the holder’s critical medical information such as medication, allergies and next of kin are available.

Design 26 – Flash Animated Banner using Action Script 3

Above is my latest animated banner using Adobe Flash with Action Script 3. As we all aware, ActionScript 3 is the most current version of the language used for scripting and programming interactive content for the Adobe Flash Platform. With Action Script 3, you can do so many wonders to make your animation looks interesting that can’t be done using the previous version.
To be honest, I am no programmer or neither an IT literate designer which I consider such a drawback for a designer like me. My flash skills are rather bleak but I do experiment with my animation sometimes… so the end results wont look dead boring.
But anyway, if you like to learn how to make some fancy, dazzling effects using Action Script 3, this site is great to help you out. Enjoy!
